MATH 1332 - Contemporary Mathematics I Credits: 3 Intended for Non STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) majors. Topics include introductory treatments of sets and logic, financial mathematics, probability and statistics with appropriate applications. Number sense, proportional reasoning, estimation, technology, and communication should be embedded throughout the course. Additional topics may be covered. Note: Students entering the University of Houston Clear Lake in the school of Human Sciences and Humanities (with the exception of education majors) may use MATH 1332 as an admission requirement instead of college algebra. Lecture Hrs. = 3, Lab Hrs. = 0 Prerequisite: ENRD 402 or equivalent, and MATH 330 (C or better) or equivalent or MATH 342 (C or better)
