RNSG 1301 - Pharmacology Credits: 3 Introduction to the science of pharmacology with emphasis on the actions, interactions, adverse effects, and nursing implications of drug classifications. Content includes the roles and responsibilities of the nurse in safe administration of medications within a legal/ethical framework. This course lends itself to either a blocked or integrated approach. In addition, the course focuses on the basic concepts and terminology used in the study of pharmacology. Pharmacokinetics for major drug classifications is emphasized as well as drug administration routes. Note that the RN Math Requirement that is a prerequisite for this course can be satisfied by (a) passing the math portion of one of the TSIA approved tests; (b) successfully completing MATH 320 , (c) earning a grade of C or better in MATH 350 , or (d) earning a grade of C or better in any college-level math course attempted.
